The region is well served by road and rail links and there are airports at Exeter, Plymouth and Newquay. There are a number of good independent and state schools in the area. There is a cottage hospital in Stratton and major hospitals in both Exeter and Barnstaple. On a broader canvas the area offers spectacular cliffs and sandy bays.
