About Bude

Bude is a small seaside resort situated on the north Cornish coast, surrounded by miles of stunning views of the Cornish countryside and sandy beaches. The town has retained its friendly charm and hosts numerous local events and fetes, many with an historical theme, as well as the internationally renowned 8 day Jazz Festival. Bude offers excitement and activities while also offering a peaceful, tranquil atmosphere. Something for everyone!
 

Amenities
There is a wide selection of banking facilities, post office and library situated in the town, along with a variety of shops, supermarkets and restaurants.

Leisure
For leisure facilities, Bude offers a comprehensive leisure centre, large heated indoor swimming pool, 18 hole golf course, floodlit tennis courts, bowling alley and much more.

Travel
There is a regular bus service around the local area, as well as to all the major towns and cities in the region, including a link to Exeter St David's railway station. The A39 Atlantic Highway passes close by giving easy access to the rest of Cornwall, and the M5. There are small airports situated at Newquay, Plymouth and Exeter with regular flights to major cities in the UK and Europe.

Education
There is a wide selection of primary schools throughout the area, and Budehaven Community School for secondary education. Excellent Private schooling is also available. Plymouth offers the closest
University, while many of the other major towns offer superb college facilities.

Health
The Medical Centre and Country Hospital are situated in the village of Stratton just on the outskirts of Bude, and there are two dental surgeries in the town centre. Patients in need of hospital treatment can easily travel to North Devon Hospital in Barnstaple, or Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
